Timekeeper Updates

Updating the Timekeeper Software
|
If you already have a version of Timekeeper, it may be out
of date. Examine the file dates and versions shown below and download
those which were created since you last got that file. For more
information see Timekeeper Files. Note
that both the creation date and the modification date shown by
your system for an MDB file are not reliable indicators of when
you got the file. The version numbers displayed by the program
and utility are reliable.
I fixed a bug in TDUTIL.MDB on 11/14/99. The problem happens
when upgrading from versions before 0.7. I made a few minor changes
and bug fixes in TDPGM.MDB on 3/31/99. For more information on
the changes see Version 0.81 Changes.
If you are already using timekeeper Version 0.8 you need to get
just TDPGM.MDB. If you have a Timekeeper before Version 0.8 then
read the following paragraphs.
For information on the changes in the pervious Update, Version
0.80, see Version 0.8 Changes. If
you are already using timekeeper you need to get just TDPGM.MDB
and TDUTIL.MDB.
For information on the changes to Version 0.73, see Version
0.73 Changes. The TDDTBL.MDB which became available in January
97 is an improved demo created by Edgar Cahn. It has examples
of saved reports using the new report interface and it has more
data to make the reports more meaningful.
If you have a Timekeeper before Version 0.8 then you need TDUTIL.MDB.
If your Timekeeper is before Version 0.73 you need to also get
TDSTRUC.MDB. Updating from a version before Version 0.73 reformats
the data in TDTBLS.MDB so you should be carefully backed up before
updating to the new version. To be able to get back to where you
were you would need your current copies of TDPGM.MDB, TDUTIL.MDB,
TDSTRUC.MDB, and TDTBLS.MDB.

Installing the Updates
After downloading the updated files, install them by:
- Make backup copies of each of the existing files that will
be replaced.
- If you did not download the files to the
TIMED
directory, move them there.
- Execute each of the downloaded files by running them from
the File Manager. This expands the .exe files into .mdb files.
You can now delete the .exe files.
- In the Timekeeper Utility program click the Synchronize Components
button to complete the installation of the update.
